This Open Call was for artists to submit short videos or photographs that document an action performed for the camera rather than a live audience or gallery display. These performative acts may be the presentation of self, may involve objects (as props or in constructed situations), and may involve language or text. They might occur in the studio or wider environment and may be a spontaneous, ephemeral or improvised nature.

Essentially, this video or photographic document exists as the remaining evidence of the ‘art act’ but has the potential to become an exhibitable item itself, troubling the line between the document and art object, or the subsidiary and primary.
